The recent retrofit of the E.ON headwaters in Essen Germany represents the first ICP Investor Ready Energy Efficiency (IREE) certification by GBCI in Europe. This energy efficiency project consisted of a retrofit of the building's underground car park and replaced conventionally controlled 54 kW T5 light fixtures with controllable 36 kW LED light fixtures including motion detectors to achieve energy savings of 84%
The project was designed by E.ON Connecting Energies, a member of the ICP Project Developer Network, and reviewed by the Braunschweiger M & P Group, an ICP Quality Assurance Assessor. As members of ICP's provider network both firms have been trained on the ICP methodology and vetted for requisite industry qualifications. Additionally, both firms are members of DENEFF, the German Industry Initiative for Energy Efficiency. Similar projects to this are being developed by E.ON's energy efficiency experts for business customers with the aim of reducing their CO2 emissions and cutting energy costs. |
