ICP Protocol - Basic Commercial |
The ICP Protocol for Basic Commercial (ICP-BC) is designed for commercial simple energy efficiency projects that involve individual or smaller sets of energy conservation measures (ECM) that focus on only one or a handful of building end-uses such as lighting, controls, HVAC replacement, etc.
This protocol is especially well suited for approaches where performance risk is shared through an energy service agreement or pay-for-performance program, and when transparent, and 3rd party IPMVP Option-B or C meter-based advanced M&V can be utilized to create a more rapid feedback loop on actual performance. Basic projects are less complex and typically affect only a portion of the building’s end-uses allowing for a more streamlined and cost effective engineering approach. This protocol allows for the appropriate scaling of these development tasks, with respect to the balance of technical rigor and risk, and provides a standardized engineering framework that does not overly burden the project budget. |
