Open Energy Data Initiative

Loan Performance Analysis

Open Access to Energy and Loan Performance Data

Open Energy Data can be freely used, shared and built-on by anyone, anywhere, for any purpose.
The Investor Confidence Project support the principles of Open Data.  We intend to build a public and community supported resource to help answer some of the most important questions facing the energy efficiency industry.

The Open Energy Data Initiative is an ongoing project of ICP and our many partners. The current dataset and analytics are comprised of non-personally identifiable (PII) residential unsecured loan performance data, and represents just the first step in our efforts.

This initiative is a community effort comprised of public and private organizations and individuals, dedicated to accelerating the energy efficiency market towards transparent investment grade actuarial data.  If you are interested in contributing data or expertise to improve this open public resource please contact us and join in this exciting initiative to achieve Open Energy Data.

All Open Energy Data Initiative data, documentation, and code is open source can be accessed through the suite tools listed below:

The Environmental Defense Fund’s (EDF) Investor Confidence Project (ICP), working with the University of Chicago's Data Science for Social Good fellowship program, in partnership with leading public energy efficiency loan programs, have identified use cases for loan and project performance data, determined gaps that may exist in the current datasets, and delivered high quality analytics to support the advancement of energy efficiency finance and investment through actuarial data.
