An Introduction to the Investor Confidence Project (ICP)
Energy efficiency programs are entrusted to deliver a steady flow of quality projects while protecting participants and maximizing program resources. It is a tall order. However, the Investor Confidence Project (ICP) helps a wide range of public programs to meet these challenges by providing standardized technical requirements, a system for independently verified project compliance, and a network of connected providers. The ICP Protocols provide a ready-made set of technical standards consisting of accepted industry standards and best practices. They serve as a standardized roadmap for how projects should be engineered robustly and to ensure that saving projections are reliable. ICP projects are developed by trained ICP Project Developers and then certified as Investor Ready Energy EfficiencyTM (IREE) projects by independent ICP Quality Assurance Providers. IREE projects provide reduced transaction costs and increased confidence in project performance for owners and investors. The ICP System can easily be integrated into program requirements and can overlay just about any type of program. ICP continues to be adopted by investors, developers, programs and stakeholders across the industry. |
